White River NRCD's 85th Anniversary Celebration

Join us Friday, October 10th at VT State University, Randolph as we celebrate 85 years of conservation, community, and partnership!

White River NRCD was formally recognized by the state of Vermont on June 12, 1940.  Our 85th Anniversary Celebration will honor the legacy of our organization, recognize the dedication and duties of our District Supervisors, and look ahead to a bright future for Vermont’s working lands and waterways.

The evening will feature a farm-to-table community dinner highlighting the abundance of our local perennial food system and our partnership with the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with a cooking class with our guest Chefs, interactive soil health and plant stations, opportunities for hands-on nursery work, and presentations from District staff to showcase our programs and offerings for residents of our District.

    Featuring Our Guest Chefs

    Chef Kyra Kristof (Massachusetts)
Creator of Forest Kitchen dinners, Chef Kyra offers a unique culinary experience that intertwines food, art, and ecology. Her gatherings are more than meals—they are immersive events designed to deepen participants’ connection to local ecosystems and foster a sense of community.

    Chef Reuben (U.S. Virgin Islands)
Chef Reuben brings the vibrant flavors and traditions of Caribbean cooking, rooted in island agriculture and a deep respect for local foodways.

Together, the chefs will craft a farm-to-table feast that blends Vermont’s seasonal abundance with Caribbean flavors—using foraged ingredients, perennial crops, and contributions from local farms—to create a dinner that is as meaningful as it is memorable.
