Policy & Civics

The image outlines a strategy framework for a just transition, contrasting the extractive economy with a living economy focused on social equity and ecological well-being.

Conservation Districts are democratically run municipal governments organized by watershed. They impact legislative policy and change by listening to the wisdom of land stewards, farmers, and scientists to help direct resources towards long-term resilience on landscapes. We give presentations on how to influence change through the legislative process, take students to the State House, and help them understand the role Conservation Districts play in supporting local natural resource concerns.
